E- WASTE

Electronic waste, "e-waste" or "Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment" ("WEEE") is a waste consisting of end of life electrical or electronic appliance.

It is a point of concern considering that many components of such equipment are considered toxic and are not biodegradable.

The total e-waste in India has been estimated to be more then 4, 00,000 tonnes per year

‘’YOU BREAK, YOU BUY, YOU POLLUTE, YOU DIE’’

BE THE CHANGE! ACT NOW, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!!

So with this I Sameer Sagar, hope to spread awareness about this devil of the 21 century.

We all can make a change. Act now, save the earth

STEPS TO REDUCE E-WASTE

St. Paul's School has collaborated with Toxic Links in order to reduce e-waste and save the environment. We have set up an e-waste reduction bin in which students bring e-waste produced in their homes. An “E-WASTE REDUCTION GROUP” has been formed of which I, Robin Thomas, am the leader. It has the following aims –
· To create awareness among children
· To encourage children to bring e-waste to school and discard it in the e-bin located in our school from where it goes to a proper recycling company.
· To discourage children from selling the e-waste to the trash picker
· To spread the campaign to the residents in the colony.
